Friday

by   Posted on December 10th, 2010 in Uncategorized

thumbnailCA7OS9S8thumbnailCA9JRUD3This Friday all the snow has melted and re-formed thick sheets of ice! People have been slipping and sliding everywhere but they just keep on coming to their beloved school.

Even though the snow is not quite gone it is still all you can see for miles!

Please note for safety reasons that even though the ice on the rivers may seem thick it still is not safe!

Wednesday 8th December in 6F

by   Posted on December 8th, 2010 in Uncategorized

This Wednesday there is a feeling of exitement in the classrooms. The christmas fair is coming up and 6F has split itself into different groups. Some will be making decorations, some making cards, there will be clay making, sewing and the entire class will be baking cakes! Unfortunatly we have to wait until Monday to start but the ideas are appearing thick and fast. After the christmas holdays some athletes will be chosen to go to the Grimsby athletic tournaments to represent South Parade.

Another thing to cause excitement- The hi- vis jacket badges! From today every week a specially designed badge will be given out and today we were given a badge with the same logo as walk to school week. Hopefully this will convince people to wear their jackets more often.

Everyone glad to be back at school.

This Tuesday everyone is coming out in the cold snow to get to their school, that seems like a far away dream. The christmas decorations are up and the paths are dug. All around the school ice lies in the carpets from weary children trudging into their class. Later tonight everyone will be wearing their hi-vis vests so that we can be safe-not squashed. Have a safe time, Hannah and Lucy.

Department of the Environment

by   Posted on October 14th, 2010 in Uncategorized

Earlier today 6F had their “Ministry time”. This is when the class splits up into the areas of school life which they are most interested in. Today the Department of the Environment asked for help from the rest of the class.

We needed to tidy up the nature garden and have a quick litter pick around the school playground. Everyone worked very hard to tidy the nature garden up. We discussed before we went out all the potential dangers and what to do if we found something unwanted. Many of the pupils even worked together to build small shelters for hibernating animals to use.DSC02267DSC02266
